You are reading the appropriate authors in my opinion. Why should you begin with the end in mind? So that you can be certain that others know how they will benefit by contributing their efforts to your project. It is about communicating clearly. If you don't begin with the end in mind then you might feel as if you have little control over your life. In my opinion, people are usually well off to either create a clear vision for them self and set about making it happen. Or, to join the clear vision of someone else. Either way, it is important to be able to know where one's self is going. The vision need not be magnificent, it can be as mundane as you choose it to be. If you set out on a task then make a serious effort to complete that goal. You will respect yourself for it. If it isn't self-respect that is most important to you then follow someone else's vision and they ought to respect you(along with you respecting yourself).

Little advice about goals and life in general?
I've read a few books ( 7habits of highly success-full ppl, beyond positive thinking, another book by robert anthony and i'm about half way through the bio of Benjamin franklin) seems to me that my whole life i didn't accomplish anything i wanted to do, i didn't ';begin with the end in mind'; and realize what i truly wanted to do, and when i did i couldn't finish my goal. But that's not what i'm asking, i'm asking, theres so many stuff i want to do, but where to start? i want to travel, get fit, do so many things, but as of now i have no job, i'm staying with my mother ( i just moved back from my home town because i wanted to think about my life) I know this is my doing, I want to be the man i wanted to be. I want to build my character, i've thought about lots of things, how long term can only bring happiness, how i cause a reaction of everything i do, how i lack of planning so i ';fizzle'; out when doing goals, i want to do so much but where do i start? do i start by building my character? maybe i'm just thinking everywhere, i prob don't know much about self help and goals as much as some ppl on this site, but some advice would be much appreciated. I'm going to take a walk and think what i should do. Also what books would you vouch for that'll be helpful? I don't want to keep coasting until i wasted my life, i truly want to be an intelligent person who can make a impact in this world, we were put on this world to create, and i want to create alot. But as of now i'm 19, and may not know more then the average man. Little advice about goals and life in general?
