I need some advice from someone with life experience?

I just started college this year... and I've already been having a lot of difficulties, with classes, loans, payments, jobs, etc. I've been so stressed out lately that I had to drop a lot of my classes, so now I'm barely a full-time student. I'm pretty ashamed of myself. I don't think I have a reason to be stressed out, because I have no job currently, and I'm taking the least amount of classes I can take - but in danger of failing those classes too. I feel like I'm a waste of money.. from all those loans and my parent's money.. and I'm so scared I will drop out of college and end up in debt.. and I wouldn't be able to face my parents after that. Honestly, I'd be happier if I could drop out now and just find a job to start paying off those loans, but I'm afraid I would regret it for the rest of my life. I need some serious advice. What can I do in this situation?I need some advice from someone with life experience?
You need to immediately see a professional about this situation--you should NOT feel guilty and ashamed about having trouble in first year at university! Get a referral or see someone at the counseling department at school. Also talk to someone in financial aid and also in student services to find out what your options are at this point in time. You should be able to get incompletes and finish the courses this summer, to salvage what you can from your first year.

Many schools will allow you some time off in situations like this, but you need to determine if this is the right school for you. You should stay in school--it's just a matter of finding the right situation or getting your head in the right place to continue. You could even go into a program like AmeriCorps, work for nine months and then return to school with about $4,500 in funds for your tuition!

Please get help the first moment you can (tomorrow morning). Write everything out so you don't get rattled, and don't worry about crying in front of the school counselors, etc. As I said, they are USED to this, and really want to help you succeed. Email me if you have questions. I wish the best for you!I need some advice from someone with life experience?
See your college counselor and your departmental counselor (if you have declared a major) you should also talk to your financial aid office. Identify what is causing your poor performance and try to fix it.

When they say college is a learning experience, they mean more than the stuff you learn in text or lecture.

Don't give up! Higher education is a great asset.
Stick it out, hang in there and keep trying to do the best you can. Your right about dropping out. You will regret it for the rest of your life. A good education will get you a good job. without one, you will be working at McDonalds until your hair is grey.
Without a good deal more information, there is just one possible piece of advice anyone can offer you.

Seek out and speak with someone at your college's counseling office.

Any other advice you get here should probably be ignored.
Stick with it and finish college! Do NOT worry about money. Just start new next semester!
Do not drop out!!! You are correct in saying ';I would regret it the rest of my life.'; I did the same thing in college. It is very, very hard to go back. Call your parents. Talk to them about it. They may be upset at first, but I'm sure they have forgiven you growing up with other situations. It is sooo hard to ';get ahead'; in the world today without a proper education. Think of those that do not have the resources to even think about higher education. Find a tutor to help you, ago talk to the Dean(s) as well. If you need to keep your job for now, just make sure you study. Maybe even change your job to give yourself the time to study.

You have to ';make'; yourself study. This is a hard decision for you at the moment, I promise, I understand. But do whatever you have to do to stay in school, even if you flunk a class or two. Call Mom and Dad, they will find out later anyway, right?

Good Luck...and keep your chin up!!! :-)
