When people give you advice like ';Turn off the computer';, Go out and live life';?

and ';Read books';, OK, but THEY'RE sitting there at their computer too! When people give you advice like ';Turn off the computer';, Go out and live life';?
That is very true.

I think it's a fine line we walk. I LOVE Yahoo Answers, and another chat spot or two, but it's important to remember the real life always takes precedent over cyber life.

On the other hand, sometimes being here is a great temporary escape from real life, y'know. You also have to pick and choose who you reply to. If someone write you a note, that does not obligate you to answer. I only write back to the ones I want to.

It's all a balance. This can be a hobby like any other. What's wrong with that. It's also incredibly cheap for the amount of enjoyment I get from it.

As for those others. It's just a case of ';Do as I say, not as I do';. Basically, they are turds. Now understand....I mean that kindly, I mean that caringly.....When people give you advice like ';Turn off the computer';, Go out and live life';?
tell them my computer is my life they might be concerned you might be addicted i know of where i speak i am a computer junky and i should take the same advice wonder where i could go to get help for this?ah haa! my next yahoo question see how this works dam I'm never going to get offline today I'm going to have to break both of my hands after Ive broken one hand how do i break the other?ah haa! another yahoo question my answer is your not the only one
Sometimes they have read some books on the subject and, or, have experienced the difficulty themselves and KNOW what they are talking about. If it works on one system why wouldn't it work on another? If turning off the computer (NOT restart) and starting it back up will solve a problem wouldn't that be the way to go?
I hunch closer to the keyboard, sweating and shaking like a monkey

You cant make me stop I wont I tells you

Then I go to the pub and pretend to be normal
I just gave someone that same bit of advice, wanna know why? because it looked like they took something that was going on here on the internet and their PC a lot more personal and seriously than they should take it, I would imagine that is why people give that advice, at least that;s why I do
Yeah, they should really look around before saying something stupid.
I liked your other picture better.
I use this as a rest period. I am VERY active and by golly I need to sit down and rest, so if someone were to tell me to get out and live life, I already have for the day, and they should mind their own business. PPPPPBBBBHHTT!!!
Yeah I agree totally.

Similarly, I used to have a lot of arguments (given up on this since) with people saying that science is bogus and they reject it. And how would they be telling me this - using the Internet !!!
Ironic, isn't it? Kinda like the Christians who tell you that you're going straight to hell but they're the first ones in line there. (Not to start a big religious pissing war, I'm not talking about all Christians, just the hypocritical ones.)
hey boffo, my occupation is with computers and I would love to go out and live life. I hear this atleast 5 times a day at work and love to! But for the living?
It depends on how long you're sitting at your computer. 1 hour a day is ok, 16 hours is not.
They are just stupid and think they have a right to say anything to anyone and are good at giving advice even if they don't follow it theirself
so you have noticed hypocrites...yippie, you'll have to deal with them all your life.
It's like people after retirement age need to work to keep busy.Life is to short to waist hours at work. Before they realize their dead.
