I don't feel like I really make any impact on life. I just move the system along. Advice?

What do you mean by impact. Like JFK? To make an impact on life find one thing to do, be it coach youth sports, visit a retiremnt home, teach someone to play an isntrument, if you do. Visit people in Long term care units and just talk to them.





Believe me you'll have a huge impact on those lives. What if you go and see, 85 yr old man, who hasnt seen his family in a while and is thinking about giving up. You showing up and saying hi and talking to him may keep him alive. Cant make much more an impact than giving someone hope to go on with life.I don't feel like I really make any impact on life. I just move the system along. Advice?
It's easy to feel this way. I think we all feel like that. When we see great people making a huge impact on the world, we feel so small. However, having children, doing your job well, being a good person. that is an impact. Somehow every move of our life does affect something else. It could be small, it could be big, it could be something we never know about. God wouldn't put us here to merely waste life. We have a purpose. It may not be to cure cancer, but maybe it's giving a homeless person change and helping them change their life. You never know. Don't give up hope.I don't feel like I really make any impact on life. As the old poster says, ';If you can't do big things, do small things in a big way.';


As everyone else has said, do small things where you are and it will have a big difference. Maybe not to you but certainly to others that you help, often unknowingly because of your continuing ';small deeds';.
That is the purpose that a majority of people find in life. Unfortunately, very few of us will move and shake society. But (hopefully) you have a positive impact on your family, friends, coworkers, etc.
My Mom used to quote from an old song: ';Brighten the corner where you are.'; You don't have to have a big influence on a whole lot of people; just make a difference for someone.
help people, volunteer, make a difference in the world. write a book, a song, a movie, inspire.
Life is precious .And you don't have to do big things in life .You should fulfill your reponsibilities .
