My best friend askedme for advice on her married life help!?

So my best friend asked me some personal questions and im not sure how to best answer them for her.

She said that she isnt in love with her husband any more and is thinking of seeking divorce. She has children and the youngest is 4. Her 4 year old is very attached to his father, and it would most likely cause great stress.

She wanted to know what I thought, but honestly I dont think she should do it. I feel that her children have a really good father that loves them and provides for them. My friend has no job, and in my opnion not trying to work things out with her man.

She say that hes very distant with her, never says he lvoes her, doesnt celebrate their aniversary or every want to have sex with her. But she says that she doesnt belive hes cheating because hes been like this before they were married.

I'm over my head because i have different beleifs than her and dont think divorce should be an option when hes not physically hurting her.

What do you guys think? My best friend askedme for advice on her married life help!?
I agree, good advice here. Especially from Valmart. Stay out of it and offer no opinions. She is only looking for validation of her decision from you. Don't offer it, but let her know you are her friend and will be there for her as well as her husband if you are friends with him, too. A tough line to walk, but it can be done.My best friend askedme for advice on her married life help!?
It's not good for any marriage to end, especially when there's children involved. She should try counseling first, and do whatever she can to save the marriage. But if she's at the point that she feels she can't do anything else, then maybe the best solution is to separate, and live apart.
I would have to agree with you. I know that it would be hard to live in a marriage where there wasn't any love. I once heard and maybe it is advice that you can give your friend is your spend as much on working on your marriage through couselling or some kind of help as you did on getting married. So if you spent $5000 on getting married you should spend $5000 on help to get your marriage back on track and then if that doesn't work at least you know you have spent as much on your marriage as you did on getting married.
Honestly I don't believe she should stay in a marriage for the children. That is really fake. The atmosphere can be cover up only for so long.

I used to have the same views on divorce, but if you are unhappy with someone and if all things have been done to make it work and it still has no hope then enough is enough. A person can't control their love.
good answers here http://www.barbaradeangelis.com/advice.a鈥?/a>
Tell her to buy ';The commitment chronicles'; and ';For Women Only, what you need to know about the inner lives of men'; these books can be found at amazon.com. They are awesome and they will help her out in understanding her husband and how to change the relationship to the better even without telling him about it or even having him cooperate. She should give her marriage another chance, for the sake of the children. They are the ones who suffer the most, I know, my parents are divorced and it hurt a lot, and still does and I'm 31.

Also check out the new TLC program on Mondays at 10pm called: ONe week to save your marriage...
Explain to your friend that while you feel for her situation, you don't feel that you are qualified to give her advise on such a life altering decision. Friends should never ask or give this sort of advise because it always ends up hurting their relationship. If the couple get back together and you have advised they should part, then you are the bad guy. If you advise her to stay with him and she continues to be miserable, she blames you. You, the friend, just can't win. It's a difficult situation for all concerned and while you want to help your friend the best thing you can do for her is to be a sympathetic ear and shoulder for her to cry on and let her know that you will always be there for her. Then offer to help her to find some good counseling and just let her know that you care too much about your friendship to risk jeopardizing it by giving bad advise. If she is any kind of friend she will understand and appreciate your honesty.
relationships - marriage , family these are the most important part of any humans life. a lot of times there comes a situation that the driving force to keep them going is temporarily gone(human nature). we all wander unknowingly in this vast field called life. in this situation a person shall have faith in the other and keep going. i hope your friend married her husband as she could have faith in him.

proper communications is the biggest part. if u do not like something why dont u ask y is that happening - after all u are his significant other. why does nt she simply ask her husband the same things.

moreover , now she has kids. its not only him , now , she has the responsibility of her kids too and it is well known fact that kids do need both parents to help them learn life in the best way.

she needs to discuss these things with her husband as soon as possible. before things get worser and worser.

thinking of divorce is cowardice. its like running away from problem instead of dealing with it.

Need advice regarding school and my life!?

Hello! I'm 25 yrs. old, and after high school graduation (2000) I started school at a Technical college. Seems as though my mind wasn't ready for college so I started working full-time for the company that I am still currently with (not to crazy about either). I have moved up as far as I could without my degree. I registered at the college for this summer (May 28, 2007) full-time. Put a 2 week notice in with the job since they won't work around my schedule. I've never made a change like this before and I'm scared to death.!! I'm taking one step back to eventually take two steps forward in the future. I have no idea what I want to do career wise, or anything in general. How do I generate a plan on what I want from myself in the next 2 yrs.? Someone who went through similar situation please chime in and give me some advice! Seems as though everyone else my age is moving on (buying homes, getting married, making more money, etc.) Thanks for any advice!!!Need advice regarding school and my life!?
When I was 24, I quit a dead-end job to go to a technical college, but I was very excited about computer programming. I can't imagine starting at a technical college with no career goals. If you have any intellectual curiosity, you could drift for a while in liberal arts or general studies--try out sociology, writing, business management, whatever, and see if anything appeals to you.

Now I'm burned out on computers and have no career goals left, so I'm sort of in the same boat as you. I'd suggest you go to the career placement office at your college and take the Strong Interest Inventory (Strong is someone's name, not an adjective). It will give you a lot of food for thought. There are many other career tests, but that's by far the best for me. The career placement office should also be able to help you with counseling.

As a long-time homeowner, I'd advise against buying a home unless you desperately want one. They are money pits, they chew up a lot of time, and unless you're lucky the financial return isn't that great. The propaganda machine for homes is very powerful, but look at what motivates the drumbeat for them: millions of homeowners who want to justify their decision, huge corporations with huge advertising budgets that promote buying and decorating houses, and the media (especially newspapers) that gets a lot of advertising revenue from the home industry.

My most important advice is not to compare yourself with your peers. Don't marry until you've found the one you know you want to spend the rest of your life with. Don't buy a house just because other people do. And don't compare your income or possessions with others, because unless you're Bill Gates you'll always feel bad. That doesn't mean you should be stupid about money, just be aware that America's state religion of materialism is a false religion.

Good luck,

I'm 27 and have just enrolled in courses to go back to school to completely change that ';master plan'; I had when I got my bachelor's degree. I don't have to quit my job (yet) to do it, but I have moved on and have the husband and the house. It's just as terrifying for me as for you, because I have a lot to lose.

It IS scary! But don't generate a plan right now. Or at least, leave some wiggle room in that plan. Life has a way of changing your plans.
I am where you are at, but I am a little older. As long as you realize that you do need a plan, whatever than plan may be, it should work out. Since you know that the sacrifice you are making now is to benefit your future, dont do anything that may jeopardize that. Just because everyone around you seem to be progressing, doesnt mean you have to be at that pace as well. Some people have families with money that give them all the financial help and support, while others have to work three times as hard to achieve those same goals. Make sure you decide what you want in the end and dont compromise what makes you happy. Keep that eye on the prize!
Getting that Degree will open many doors to you. Instead of hitting a glass ceiling you'll have a chance to move up in a company not just be a number.
I think you are on the right track. I'm 28 and am going back to school this summer as well. I am not as fortunate to quit my job so I will be working full time (45 hr week) and going to school full time(5 classes). I think you made a great decision. I was like you, when I went to school @ 19, I was really not into it and ended up wasting money and time. it will be hard for you, I'm not saying it wont, but in the long run it will be for the better. As far as making a plan for the next two years, I am not one to do much planning. I believe in taking things one step at a time. If you think too much about the things you want to accomplish your going to overwhelm yourself and feel depressed because your plan is not going to schedule. Take it step by step, day by day and before you know it...you will be graduating and life will simply put itself in order. Good Luck!
Your still young. Stay the course and get that degree. You don't say how you are supporting yourself. Set a goal for a graduation, try to work in an industry that may include what your degree will be in and don't give up. You've already experienced what it's like to go as far as you can without a degree so that should be a strong incentive. Quitting or procastinating will only return you to where you were.

My External Hard Drive Start Producing Clicking Sound - All My Projects/Workshops/My Life are in There -Advice?

I think external harddrive are not very reliable since one day it won't work and you'll alot of data. I'm thinking for a better solution, i'm thought to join livedrive.com and put all my hardrive folders/files in their server and use it as my main storage device (its remote storage device). If i want something offline, i will just copy the file into my USB.

Do you think this is a good solution, or shall i just buy new external hardrive? My External Hard Drive Start Producing Clicking Sound - All My Projects/Workshops/My Life are in There -Advice?
It is a good solution. Mobile me, and live-mail both offer you online space as well, geek squad @ best buy also offers online backup. The nice thing about cloud storage is you don't have to carry thumb drives about if you have internet access where ever you are going. You can never bee to safe so use an online service you trust. I don't know much about live drive but research it before you put your personal data on it. mobile me is from apple. live mail is from Microsoft and geek squad is from Best Buy. Back up often!

You need a new hard drive if its clicking. Tell tale sign its time is almost come.

Advice on my sex life?

ok my husband and i sex life is still pretty hot, but i love trying new things such as anal, spanking, gagging, and other stuff lol, but he said he's not in to all of that all the time. he loves when i go down on him and put it in my throat but he don't like ';doing it ruff'; i think thats pretty ruff to me. but anyway am i some sort of nympho?

i mean why do i want to do these freaky things i really don't think my husband can handle me like that what am i to do with my freaky thoughts?Advice on my sex life?
There is nothing wrong with your thoughts and tastes. You should talk with your husband and start working some of what you like into your repertoire. Tell him to remember that every time that you have sex doesn't have to be the ';freak-show';, but sometimes when the moon is full, he should be willing to please you. People get so defensive, sex should be fun, and especially if you are married and in a monogamous relationship, your partner has an obligation to work with you on these things. If you go down for him he should return the favor... if you are not already, try shaving the region... that way he has nothing to whine about... he should be so lucky to be with you! What a putz! Men would line up to fill your dance card, believe me! Good Luck :)Advice on my sex life?
hey i look at it this way different tricks for different chicks good luck on that one
You are right. You need to teach him step by step.
Well i don't know about nympho. i mean you don't seem like you want to have sex with anyone else other than your hubby. You are just a lot more open minded to new things than your hubby.

WHy not try getting a book, kamasutra? and start with something a little ';milder'; at first. If he still wouldn't budge.... well.. you really need to reach a middle ground. You two can always compromise. Have fun!
No your not crazy.. Maybe his background and the way he was brought up was a taboo thing. Usually its the women who have the problem.. But in your case, try talking to him about it when your not having sex find out what it is he doesn'tlike about it.. Does he think its dirty. or does he have hang ups that your his wife so he doesn't think his wife should behave this way. maybe yoru a mother and he thinks youshouldnt act this way. try to find out the root of this then you can work on fixing it.

Also try introducing him slowly to things and gradually so he won't feel so shocked. and get him involved more. maybe rent a movie with partcular things in it to show him .. Maybe he's shy and doesn't know how to do the things you ask. so instead of giving it a try and feel like he's a failure in your eyes he doesn't attempt it. rather than for him to feel embarrased.

Good luck
toys toys thats what you need
try easing him into it. give him advanced warning and then try something 'a little bit adventurous'. don't rush. give him time to get used to it. then, when he is comfortable - advance a little more.

if you take someone to the gym for the first time you don't give them a 300 pound bar bell to lift. you start small and work your way up.
Anything goes in the sex dept. as long as both partners agree.
Hey there Tameka, try this -

Set up a regular date night with your hubby! It could be weekly, monthly, what ever you can convince him to do.

On these nights, pick a restaurant he enjoys going to. Tell him ahead of time though that after dinner, the two of you are going home and having some fun! This way, he gets his dinner and you get your freaky sex! Another option is to stay at home and you make him a good dinner dressed in something so sexy he can't resist you! While it's cooking, the two of you can have each other as an appetizer! Slowly introduce him to the fun things you want to do! He will get into it.

One more, get a tiny plaid skirt and put it on with your tallest heels. Walk in and tell him you've been naughty and need to be spanked! Thats one way to get him to spank you.

Have fun and good luck!
Sit down, clothed, and talk to your husband. Set the boundaries in which you are both comfortable. If necessary, get sex therapy. You are not weird, just unique in manner, from any number of other couples.
Just tell him to try it and if he doesn't like it then yall won't do it no more but if he do like it things can go your way after that.
You tell him I say he is a lucky man and not to waste you.

tcPlz give an advice this is my real life story?
i tell u one thingh';love to those people who loves to u and understands your feelings.so busy your life firsstly.by your wording i think he did not love to u.not understands your feelings .i am also a lover.i also love a girl but she did not love to me but i settled my life busy.and iam don't about her.so pls make your life and don't think about him.best wish to u.
You are being used. Cut and run before you are dried up. A person like this will never be happy with you. There will always be a problem he will want you to correct. That will be a constant power he will hold over you. For him it is less about who you ARE, and more about how much he can control/manipulate you to his own ends.

You will not be the first to have placed your love in someone whom cannot return it. Nor will you be the last.

Learn self respect and challenge yourself to make a new life without him pushing you down. You will, in time, be far better off.

Good luck in your ordeal.
if u read that story back to yourself as if it was off somebody else, what advice would you give??? i think u know the answer! the good thing is that u know you are too good for this selfish man,so get ou NOW while you still have some respect for yourself because if he carries on treating you like this you will have none !!!! be brave kick him to the kerb with the other trash!
omg...you are right, you did not get the man you deserve....why the hell are you still with him ?? he treats you like crap already and you want to marry this guy?? do you think this is going to get any better?? of course not !!! he searches for new girls....does he cheat on you?? std's can be forever, if it does not kill you. forget his money....money cannot buy happiness. lose the loser!!! before you get deeper in this relationship. tell him you will NEVER be a nurse so he should just keep on going till he finds a women stupid enough to put up with this crap. you deserve so much better.....when you love someone you should be expecting the same in return. don't expect ';nothing';. love is a two sided thing........must be from both partners.......or it's not love. why would you want to be with a man you have to plead and bargain with for him to love you ?? go find a real man......there are many out there!!!!!! gl!!!
I personally don't think he's into you at all...

I even would be so bold to think that he's just playing you like a puppet. Sorry if that sounded harsh...

  • Advice on my love life...?

Hi everyone. I need some advice, as you can see, on my love life. Do you think that it would be okay to date a guy eight years older than me? Thanks.

    Advice on my love life...?
8 years older is probably a bad idea.

Think about it! He was 8 years old when you were born...isn't that weird??Advice on my love life...?
It truly depends on your age and maturity level. If you're over 25, I think it's cool. Otherwise, find someone your age or a few years older.
    depending how old you are...

a guy older than you will expect more out of you. to be more mature. to be more committed to him than anybody else

    be careful :D
I guess it depends on the situation...If you're over 18 ish then it's ok. But it's probably going to be hard when people hear the age difference and because he is so much older than you, he may be in a different place in his life which could take a toll on the relationship.
well it all depends on how old you are....?? if your only sixteen or maybe younger then no...i dont think that would be ok.... but if your twenty or so then yeah go for it....
I agree, it depends on your age. If you are 16 or younger, don't. but if you are in your 20s i would go for it if you think that he is right. If you are 16ish-19ish.. be sure that he isn't 'using' you.. guys can be like that you know..

What is one advice you'd give to a teenager that he/she could use to life by?

It think this is a good saying: freedom of choice, but not freedom of responsibility.

I like it because it shows that people can make choices but those choices will have consequences which they have to take responsibility for. What is one advice you'd give to a teenager that he/she could use to life by?
    Seek truth always.

    Practice being loving to all.

    Relish everything that is beautiful.

That is a all you need to know in life. What is one advice you'd give to a teenager that he/she could use to life by?
Do not underestimate or dismiss the importance of a good education.
    have a good time.
Be useful. The more useful you are, the happier you'll be. Give this some thought before you discount it or thumbs down it. Profound things are found in simple places.
If someone is pushing you to do something in a hurry, wait it out. More than likely they're only interested in getting you to do something that will benefit them and them alone. If they complain: ';Don't you trust me?';, Don't. And don't feel guilty about it.
Be true to yourself, never change for anyone or become something your not and always follow your passions and dreams, never give up on them, always stay true to yourself and become what you want to be.
Develope good health habits so that you are not dragged

down by bad health. Work hard to make a good life for

you and who ever you are with. Do unto others as you want

    others to do unto you.
life isnt about sex, drinkin, smoking, drugs, money, property, rumors or sin

it is about love, dedication to others/self, respect and hard work
Be self -confident and sincere and honest to your work or studies.
Don't take life too seriously, you'll never get out alive.

But on the other hand I liked the 'freedom of choice but not freedom of responsibility' one too.

The only problem is that teens will appeal to these short quips far more than listening to an insightful discussion about how to live life, enjoy it but be responsible all the while.

I guess you could try to engage them by relating the subject to something in their own life and how they affect everything around them either for the good or detriment of mankind or humankind for those who want to see some gender equality.
    spelling is paramount.
reach for the moon, give it your all, stay true to your self.....

dont change to be like everyone else, otherwise the world will be a conform place.......

-i wish i could go back and be like this-

    =)
always love and never hate and think before you act in life because what you do now will effect you for the rest of your life.
Always strive to improve yourself everyday to be the best person you can be...... all else falls into place....
Be careful doing things you can never undo.
Everything will be okay in the end.. if it's not okay, it's not the end.
Ignore negative people. Especially those close to you. Find your own golden ring and jump for it Just as high and as hard as you can
